Worked example

Worked example: an EV charger installer with a line on the services page, and the three pages that replace it

A worked example, labelled as one: no EV installer client is published here yet. The electrician is a composite of the installer sites we audited for the EV page on this site; the plan is what we would do; the grant facts are GOV.UK’s as read on 6 October 2026 and the reference figures are from real accounts elsewhere, marked where they appear.

The starting point: a two-van firm that fits a charger most weeks, is authorised for the workplace scheme, and has one sentence about it under “other services” on a page that lists fourteen things. Search Console shows the firm’s name and nothing with “charger” in it.

What the reference accounts say about the scale

A page per job is read; a sentence on a list is not

On a Cheshire garage we run, a site rebuilt as a page per service took its head search from 21.8 to 4.7 in ten weeks and its clicks from 42 to 110 in the same windows, with the profile going from one review to twenty-one. The account is a garage, published and named on our garage site, and is quoted for the mechanism: the search found a page about the job, not a line on a list.

What we would expect, labelled as expectation: the make-name and town searches on page one within weeks, because few local installers have written them; the workplace page slower and worth more, with one car park being several domestic jobs in one invoice; and the measure that matters, enquiries that mention a car or a charger, countable from the first month if the form asks what car they drive.

How to read this page

 • The firm is a composite; no installer is named, described or implied.
 • The Workplace Charging Scheme figures are GOV.UK’s as read on 6 October 2026; household grant figures are linked rather than retyped because they change.
 • Every reference figure is from a real account elsewhere and is marked where it appears. It is the scale we plan against, not a promise.
